the comparison of staphylococcus aureus isolated from blood and wound specimens for genes encoding polysaccharide intercellular adhesion (pia)

چکیده
conclusions these findings showed no significant difference regarding the presence of icaadbc genes between blood and wound isolates. background the polysaccharide intercellular adhesion (pia) produced by staphylococcus aureus is effective in the protection of isolates from outer harsh conditions and progress of infection. objectives the aim of this study was to compare the icaabcd genes encoding polysaccharide intercellular adhesion (pia) between blood and wound isolates of staphylococcus aureus (s. aureus) in tehran. patients and methods forty-eight clinical isolates (including 30 blood and 18 skin wounds) were collected from patients and were identified. next, meca gene, sccmec types and icaabcd genes were detected among blood and wound isolates of s. aureus by pcr assay and specific primers. results nine (19%) out of 12 methicillin resistant s. aureus (mrsa) isolates harbored sccmec type iii and three (6.2%) isolates harbored sccmec type v. prevalence of icaa, icab, icac and icad in blood isolates was twenty-one (70%), fourteen (48%), nineteen (64%) and eighteen (60%), respectively; while the prevalence in wound isolates was as nine (50%), seven (39%), six (34%) and twelve (67%), respectively.

Distribution Patterns of Methicillin Resistance Genes (mecA) in Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Clinical Specimens
There is a growing concern about the application of molecular methods in epidemiological studies of infectious diseases. The objective of this study was to determine the genetic stability of methicillin resistance genes in Staphylococcus aureus for the evaluation of resistance strain distribution. One hundred and fifteen S. aureus isolates from patients with staphylococcal infection were collec...
متن کاملSurvey of the Lethal Effect of Ciprofloxacin and Supernatant Isolated from Staphylococcus Aureus under the Stress of Ciprofloxacin on Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Strains Isolated from Clinical Specimens
Background and Aim: Staphylococcus aureus is gram-positive coccus that is one of the most important causes of nosocomial infections and cause cutaneous or subcutaneous infections. Among these bacteria Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are the most important. The aim of the present study was to investigate the lethal effect of a substance isolated from Staphylococcus aureus unde...
متن کاملDetermination of hemolysine genes frequency in antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from wound and urine samples of patients
Background: Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogenic bacterium that can target host cell membranes with virulence factors such as toxins and peptides. This study was evaluated the frequency of alpha, beta, and delta hemolysine genes in antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from patients' urine and wound samples. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 100 a...
متن کاملDetection of Intracellular Adhesion (ica) and Biofilm Formation Genes in Staphylococcus aureus Isolates from Clinical Samples
Background: The nosocomial infections that cause the establishment of biofilms on the embedded biomedical surfaces are the leading cause of sepsis and are often related to colonization of implants by Staphylococcus epidermidis. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 clinical S. aureus isolates were collected from Zabol, Iran. The ability of these strains to form biofilm was determined by microli...
متن کاملdistribution of tsst-1 and meca genes in staphylococcus aureus isolated from clinical specimens
conclusions our outcomes showed elevated incidences of tsst-1 positive and mrsa strains with higher rates of antibiotic resistance. the conflict between our findings and other records may be due to differences in geographic regions. materials and methods the presence of the tsst-1 and meca genes was investigated by polymerase chain reaction (pcr) among s. aureus isolated from 197 clinical sampl...
متن کاملGenetic diversity of Staphylocoagulase genes (Coa) among methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates at clinical specimens of blood and urinary infections
Background: Staphylococcus aureus is a common pathogen in human that can be the cause of a wide range of infectious diseases including bacteremia, pneumonia, cellulitis, and osteomyelitis and skin and soft tissue infections. The coagulase enzyme is one of the most important virulence factors of this bacterium. The polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) Coa...
